Distillery Tours

A Whittaker’s Distillery Tour is your chance to get a behind the scenes look at a working distillery producing internationally award winning gins and now whisky.

You will be guided  through the history of Whittaker’s and shown round the distillery by one of the Whittaker's Team.

We recommend you arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes early as the Tour will start promptly.

When you arrive, you will be offered either a Gin and Tonic or beverage of your choice.  Then it is off for a look at the distillery for a behind the scenes look at where all the distilling and mashing is done. You will be talked through the gin making process and how we make our whisky with a visit to the whisky barrel warehouse.

Then it is back into the bar area for a sit down tasting of gins and whisky with local Weatherheads pork pies. The whole tour and tasting takes around 2 hours.

  • So the actual tour lasts about 30 to 40 minutes and then back into the café for a full gin tasting and delicious nibbles. We will be serving locally made, award-winning pork pies and other goodies while you sit back and enjoy the tasting.

    This is usually about 8 gins and a whisky.

  • For those of you who are driving, you can take home a 5cl bottle of your choice if it is available so you can sample your favourite in the comfort of your own home so no one is left out. When you have sampled all the gins, you can then choose which one you would like in a Gin and Tonic or a dram of Whittaker's Whisky so you can relax and chat or wonder round the shop.

IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO LOOK UNDER 25, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PROVE THAT YOU ARE AGED 18 OR OVER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE TASTING SO PLEASE BRING APPROPRIATE PROOF OF AGE.

DISTILLERY TOURS ARE ON THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS AT 1.30PM AND 3.30PM

WE ADVISE THAT YOU ARRIVE AT LEAST 10 TO 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR TOUR IS DUE TO START AS TOURS WILL START PROMPTLY AT THE BOOKING TIME.

For group bookings of 12 people and over, we can arrange alternative dates and times to suit your needs. The perfect venue for your Hen party Distillery Tour. 

You never need an excuse to drink Whittaker’s Gin!

We don't hire our venue out for parties but we do offer bookings for Corporate Team Building days. We are open to discuss private events for a maximum of 50 people.
